Masterwork Meets Cäcilien-Chor
In 2013 and 2014, two exceptional choruses collaborated to produce a German-American concert series entitled “Voices Unite.” The Masterwork Chorus hosted Cäcilien-Chor in 2013, performing jointly and individually in New Jersey at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Princeton Chapel at Princeton University, and Summit’s Calvary Episcopal Church. The concluding feast held in Newark’s Iron Bound section celebrated the week’s success, cementing the relationships that always develop whenever singers join forces to make stunning music.Friendships were renewed in 2014 when Cäcilien-Chor reciprocated, hosting The Masterwork Chorus in Germany. The two groups shared the stage in historic venues in Frankfurt, Heidelberg, and Wachenheim. In both instances, singers were invited to stay at private homes in the host country – an enriching experience enjoyed by all. Music Directors Andrew Megill and Christian Kabitz shared the baton, and award-winning organist Daniel Stipe was a tour-de-force, accompanying the choruses in styles ranging from French Romantic to American Contemporary.
