Seungchan Hong, a baritone born in South Korea, holds a Professional Studies degree from the Mannes School of Music, where he studied on a full scholarship under Arthur Levy. He has performed iconic roles such as Rigoletto and Falstaff with the Milnes Voice Studio, earning 1st prize in the Opera Idol competition, supported by the legendary baritone Sherrill Milnes and tenor George Shirley.
Hong’s notable performances include a double bill of Gianni Schicchi (G. Puccini) and Buoso’s Ghost (M. Ching) at Montclair State University, where he won 1st prize in the Cali School of Music Vocal Competition. He also received an Encouragement Award at the Opera at Florham International Vocal Competition and was a semifinalist in the Loren L. Zachary Vocal Competition.
His performance credits include roles such as Germont in La Traviata and Renato in Un Ballo in Maschera with the Manhattan School of Music.
